The 5th Serbian Road Congress was held on May 30–31, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade, in the standard format as previous congresses (2014/2016/2018/2022), lasting for two working days, preceded by a welcome cocktail the evening before.

The Congress began with the Opening Ceremony, where the first speech was given by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Mihajlo Mišić, followed by the President of the Serbian Road Society Via-Vita, Dušan Slavković, Co-Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Vladan Tubić, the Deans of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, the Assistant Director of the Public Enterprise “Roads of Serbia,” Miodrag Poledica, the Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, Matej Zakonjšek, as well as representatives of the companies that were general and platinum sponsors.

A total of 65 papers were submitted, with abstracts published in the printed Book of Abstracts and the full papers published in the Proceedings on USB, both cataloged by the National Library of Serbia. The papers were divided into six topics and presented during the working part of the congress in thematic sessions. The authors were mostly from Serbia, as well as from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Croatia, Germany, and Italy. In addition to these papers, there were three invited keynote lectures by Francesca Russo, Vojkan Jovičić, and Aleksandar Stevanović.

All presentations were interpreted simultaneously. On the first working day, the presentations took place in the plenary session, while on the second day the congress was organized in two parallel halls.
